Since its inception in 2015, the Golden Pinwheel International Illustrators Competition has grown into one of the most influential contests for young original illustrators worldwide. Since 2023, the competition has introduced the Commercial category, which, together with the Book Publishing category, provides illustrators around the globe with an international platform to showcase their talent and expand their opportunities.
This year's competition features a distinguished jury of eight experts from different countries and fields. The judges for the Book Publishing category include A Geng (China), Namjung Kim (South Korea), Alessandro Sanna (Italy), Leo Timmers (Belgium), and Wei Ling (China). The Commercial category is judged by Steven Guarnaccia (USA), Li Min (China), and Birthe Steinbeck (Germany). From 2,828 valid submissions from 78 countries and regions across six continents, the jury has selected 50 entries for the Book Publishing category and 19 entries for the Commercial Application category, totaling 69 shortlisted works.
